In celebration of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, ABC 7 presents Asian Influences, an Emmy Award-winning program that shines the spotlight on Chicago's Pan-Asian American community. Hosted by Linda Yu, with contributions by Judy Hsu and Ravi Baichwal, the latest Asian Influences edition, "Influencing Change," airs Saturday, May 22 at 6:30 pm. An encore performance will air Sunday, May 23 at 4:30 PM.
"Influencing Change" explores the "Model Minority Myth," the perception that all Asian Americans are all well educated and financially stable. In addition, community leaders will talk about the impact of this perception as it relates to the 2010 Census and current redistricting legislation.
