The book is a revised and expanded version of an original article in Chinese published in 1996 in Beijing. It is basically a chronological account of Dr. Sun's life in Hawaii consisting of three chapters: (1) Sun Yat-sen's six visits to Hawaii, 1879-1910; (2) Sun Yat-sen's fund-raising in Hawaii; and (3)Sun Yat-sen's supporters in Hawaii. It contains many illustrations including photos. The third chapter is a biography of supporters with photos for many. Of significant of reference value are its appendixes, including members who attended the first meeting of the Hsing-Chung Hui, Hsing-Chung Hui members, Members of Chung Hua Keming Jun, members who joined Tung Meng Hui, and news clippings.
